A dozen Palestinians injured by Israeli settler attacks in the occupied West Bank

A dozen Palestinians were injured this Thursday in different attacks by Israeli settlers that occurred in three different points of the occupied West Bank, reported the Palestinian Red Crescent. Seven farmers were injured in an attack by settlers north of the Hebron governorate (southern occupied West Bank), when armed Israelis from the illegal settlement of Karmei Tzur assaulted them with stones, batons and pepper spray, trying to access their lands. The workers were taken by ambulance to Mahmoud Abbas Hospital, located in the city of Halhul (Hebron), a source from the Red Crescent told EFE.

In addition, the Palestinian Red Crescent attended to and referred to a nearby hospital a father and daughter who were also assaulted by another group of settlers, in an altercation in which their family car was set on fire, near the Eli settlement (north-central West Bank). On the other hand, the humanitarian organization assisted a 64-year-old man in another settler attack near the Karameh crossing, east of Jericho, next to the Jordan River. This is the only direct land crossing between the West Bank and Jordan, traditionally used by Palestinians and travelers to exit by land, but which Israel has closed punctually during the last two years with the conflict in Gaza as a backdrop. A report published this week by La Plataforma, a coalition of 12 Israeli human rights organizations, details that, between 2023 and 2024, around 1,200 incidents of settler violence were recorded. "In 2025, the situation intensified into a mass expulsion: 44 Palestinian shepherd communities were completely displaced and another 10 partially evicted, affecting 2932 people, including 1326 children," the report stated. The West Bank is suffering from an increase in settler attacks against Palestinians, in the face of the widespread permissiveness of Israeli authorities and security forces. In fact, according to the UN Human Rights Office, from October 7, 2023, to November 13, 2023, 1,017 Palestinians were killed in the West Bank, including deaths in attacks or raids by the Israeli Army. Also, in October of this year, more settler attacks were recorded in the West Bank (260) than in any other month since 2006, according to the aforementioned United Nations office.
