Madrid. - Dominican Republic and Spain will be even closer during the upcoming Christmas holidays. Air Europa will increase to two daily frequencies the number of flights connecting Madrid-Barajas and Santo Domingo between December 18 and January 31, 2026, which will allow an 87% increase in the number of seats offered and the possibilities of connection with the Caribbean island during one of the times of the year with the highest demand.
The current connections will be joined by a daily flight between Madrid and the Dominican capital at 11:30 a.m. and another from Santo Domingo to Spain at 5:30 p.m. Thus, the airline's customers will have more options to configure their trips thanks to the availability of nearly 27,000 seats for this route between mid-December and the end of January.
Air Europa thus strengthens its commitment to the region, where it is already the European company that operates the most frequencies. In addition to flights to Santo Domingo, it has five weekly frequencies to Punta Cana and another two to the capital of Cibao, Santiago de los Caballeros.
The operation on this route is carried out with Boeing 787 aircraft, the most advanced and efficient model in its category. The Dreamliner fleet, which has been joined this year by three new units, is one of Air Europa's main hallmarks. These aircraft are capable of reducing consumption and emissions by up to 25%, as well as decreasing the acoustic impact by 60%. Their design and technology allow long-haul flights to be shortened by up to 40 minutes.
The layout of its cabin, with higher ceilings, 30% larger windows and an innovative air renewal system, in turn enhance the comfort and rest of passengers on long-haul flights. Likewise, customers can enjoy a unique Business class, with seats that convert into fully reclining two-meter beds; the best onboard entertainment offer and a gastronomic proposal with the seal of the renowned chef Martín Berasategui.
