Santo Domingo.- The Chamber of Deputies received a delegation of Ukrainian parliamentarians with the purpose of strengthening relations between both countries.
During the meeting, the president of the legislative body, Alfredo Pacheco, highlighted the importance of the meeting and the excellent reception that the delegation has had among the deputies of different parties.
He underscored the commercial, tourist, and cultural ties that have united both nations, highlighting the elimination of visas as a symbol of the strengthening of the relationship.
In that same order, he pointed out the Dominican Republic's support for Ukraine in various international forums, such as the United Nations (UN), where the nation has expressed its solidarity in the face of the challenges facing the European nation.
For his part, Deputy Carlos de Pérez, leader of the Dominican-Ukrainian Parliamentary Friendship Group, reaffirmed the commitment to promote dialogue and cooperation between both states, in an increasingly interconnected world.

In turn, Ignacio Aracena, president of the Foreign Relations and International Cooperation Commission, highlighted our nation's pride in maintaining long-standing diplomatic ties.
From the Ukrainian delegation, Andrii Bohdanets, head of the interparliamentary relations group with the Dominican Republic, expressed his enthusiasm for strengthening the bilateral relationship, highlighting the great potential for collaboration between both nations.
In addition, he emphasized support for the initiatives promoted by this country in the field of international organizations.
The Ukrainian Ambassador to Cuba, concurrently for the Dominican Republic, Iryna Kostiuk, thanked the legislators for the creation of the friendship group, noting that “this will allow us to further strengthen the ties between the two states.”
In a symbolic gesture, the congressmen from both delegations exchanged gifts as a sign of the strengthening of their diplomatic relations.
At the meeting, held in the Hugo Tolentino Dipp hall, also present were Serhii Bunin, member of the inter-parliamentary relations group; Yuliia Hryshyna, president of the Subcommittee on Higher Education of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine; Vitalii Bilan and Volodymyr Rubenko, advisor and assistant to the ambassador, respectively; in addition, Victoria Yakimova.
