Santo Domingo.- On the occasion of the 171st anniversary of the Chamber of Accounts, a thanksgiving mass was celebrated, headed by Emma Polanco Melo, president of the institution, with the aim of reaffirming the commitment to work together for a transparent, ethical and modern institution that prioritizes the conduct of audits.
The head of the governing body emphasized that work will be strengthened in accordance with the principles of the Constitution and the laws, acting as a single voice and efficiently utilizing institutional resources.
“Nosotros vamos a trabajar en función de lo que quiere el país. Vamos a presentar las auditorías en las que hemos estado trabajando. El Pleno ya se ha reunido varias veces para conocer algunas, las daremos a conocer y también las publicaremos en la plataforma digital”, expresó Polanco de Mercedes.
He announced that a strategic plan is being developed in all administrative, personnel, and auditing areas.
"El trabajo es lo primero. Soy la primera en llegar a la institución y una de las últimas en salir. En este momento, la Cámara de Cuentas demanda un alto nivel de compromiso por parte de todos sus colaboradores. Por eso hemos ido consolidando el apoyo del personal. Si usted visita la institución, notará una organización diferente. Tenemos el firme propósito de que esta Cámara de Cuentas funcione con ética, transparencia y en estricto apego a la Ley 18-24 y a la Constitución de la República", expresó.
The mass, celebrated as part of the commemorative activities of the anniversary, was officiated by the parish priest Nelson Rafael Clark Vásquez, in the Primate Cathedral of America.
After the Eucharist, the president, accompanied by the other members of the oversight body, laid a floral offering in honor of the Founding Fathers.
