Edenorte condemns aggression against technical brigade during operation against illegal connections in Dajabón

Dajabón.- The company Edenorte Dominicana strongly condemned the physical and verbal aggression against a technical brigade of a contracting company, which occurred during an operation to interrupt the electrical service to a house illegally connected in the province of Dajabón. The incident was recorded on the morning of Thursday, December 18, 2025, when technical personnel from the contractor INGMELEC Dominicana, along with the Commercial and Energy Loss Reduction Department of Edenorte and an officer from the Physical Security Directorate, went to a residence located on the main street of the La Bomba neighborhood, near the detachment of the Dominican Republic Army (ERD), in the El Libertador sector, where Wilton Ronny Luciano Genao resides. According to the preliminary report, at the time of proceeding with the disconnection of the supply, due to the fact that the house lacked a contract and was illegally connected, Luciano Genao and his son, Ronny Ismael Luciano Encarnación, abruptly assaulted the technicians Luis Alfredo Taveras Fernández and Juan Daniel Moreta, employees of INGMELEC Dominicana.

Edenorte deeply regretted what happened and reiterated that no employee or contractor should be subjected to violence while performing legal and technical functions under the current regulations of the electricity sector. The distributor reported that, as it was an assault against personnel of a contracting company, INGMELEC Dominicana initiated the corresponding legal actions before the judicial authorities of Dajabón, so that those responsible answer for the facts. Edenorte reaffirmed its commitment to the safety of its personnel, the fight against electricity fraud, the reduction of losses, and the continuous improvement of service, actions that it underscored are carried out in strict adherence to the law and for the benefit of all citizens.
