Santiago. - A fire recorded this Thursday morning destroyed six fruit stalls and three rooms located at the back of the Joaquin Balaguer highway roundabout, at the entrance to Santiago, generating great concern among the merchants and residents of the area.
The fire, which originated after 8:00 in the morning, mobilized several units of the Santiago Fire Department, who quickly went to the scene to extinguish the flames and prevent them from spreading to other nearby structures.
According to preliminary information, the fire would have started due to a short circuit in a power line pole, which caused the flames to spread rapidly towards the businesses operating in the area.
