The Dominican Government, through the Ministry of Youth and the Directorate of Social Development Supérate, presented this Monday the "Tarjeta Joven", a new social program aimed at young people between 18 and 35 years old in conditions of poverty or vulnerability.
The amount that will be denied to the most vulnerable young people through this card will be RD$2,500 pesos.
"It's not just an economic stimulus, it's a framework of benefits in favor of youth," declared the Minister of Youth Carlos Valdez when giving the information.
In its first stage, the card will be available to the first 10,000 young people to register.
Carlos Valdez explained that to request this benefit, which will be aimed at students, it must be done through the Ministry of Youth's portal and will be from the month of November when its formal delivery to the selected students will begin.
In addition to educational contributions, the "Youth Card" will have public urban transport services such as OMSA, Santo Domingo Metro, Cable Car, tolls and new corridors, as well as contactless payments, access to integrated digital services, and will be accompanied by a mobile application to manage benefits, transactions and online services.
