Santiago.- The former president of the Republic, Engineer Hipólito Mejía called this Friday "irresponsible" to the Dominican justice and asked it to act in the case of the Jet Set nightclub, whose roof collapsed during a party of the singer Rubby Pérez, on April 8, leaving 236 dead, including the artist, and 180 injured and at least 600 affected deaths
"Let justice act, which is quite bad and irresponsible, Dominican justice," asserted the former president.

When questioned by journalists, Hipólito Mejía indicated that although he does not handle the results of the investigation, nor does he have knowledge of architecture, he did ask the justice system to act in the judicial process for which the Attorney General's Office arrested businessman Antonio Espaillat and his sister, Maribel Espaillat.
Mejía made these statements after participating in a mass for the 63rd anniversary of the Tobacco Institute Intabaco in this city.
