The legislative operability of this second ordinary legislature has been classified as very relevant by President Ricardo de los Santos, as it includes the approval of two codes: the Criminal Procedure and the labor code, although he regretted that the latter has not been approved in the Lower House. Under the direction of Senator Ricardo de los Santos, also representing the province of Sánchez Ramírez, the Senate Plenary approved the Law creating the College of Certified Public Accountants of the Dominican Republic, the modification of Law 37-590 of the National Police to create the Specialized Police on rescue and search for missing or kidnapped persons; and the Amnesty Law for the registration of irregular firearms or their voluntary surrender. Also, it favored the approval of the Organic Law that creates the National Intelligence Directorate (DNI) and regulates the National Intelligence System. In addition, the one that creates the Law of internships in the Public Sector for the practical labor training of technical and university students, the General Law of integral management and processing of solid waste, and the bill that declares October 25 of each year as Cooperativism Day in the Dominican Republic. Within the framework of the 150 days that comprised the First Ordinary Legislature of 2025, the Law regulating Retentive Embargo in the Dominican Republic was approved, the project that creates the Day of the Dominican Neonatologist Physician, and the bill that declares the Borbón or Pomier Caves Anthropological Reserve as the "Rock Art Capital of the Dominican Republic".
