Santo Domingo. - According to the forecast of the Dominican Republic's Meteorology Institute (INDOMET), tropical storm Melissa, No. 13 of this 2025 Hurricane Season, is located approximately 445 kilometers southwest of Port-au-Prince (Haiti) and 260 kilometers south/southeast of Kingston (Jamaica), it is stationary, meaning it has no translational movement and has sustained winds of about 75 km/h with higher gusts and a gradual strengthening is forecast in the following days.
In that sense, due to the rainfall and the forecast, the provinces remain under alert levels and meteorological warnings due to the risk of urban and rural flooding, overflowing rivers, streams and ravines, as well as landslides, mainly in vulnerable sectors, as shown in the following table:
