Santo Domingo.- The U12 National Championship “Copa Robinson Canó” organized by Fedom is back at the La Farándula League in the Centro de los Héroes of this capital city, with the participation of the eight teams that from Thursday, May 8th, until Sunday, May 11th, will battle for the crown of the event, which has a special dedication to Vitelio Mejía Ortiz, president of the Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League (Lidom).

It was in 2023 that the aforementioned Club opened its doors to the National U12 and the Fedom, and at that time the Sánchez Ramírez Province was proclaimed champion, for this 2025 the Liga de la Farándula receives the teams from the Santo Domingo Province, San Pedro de Macorís, Valverde, Barahona, Santiago, La Romana, Duarte and San Cristóbal.
The president of the Dominican Baseball Federation (Fedom), Juan Núñez Nepomuceno, announced the change of venue, explaining that it is being done because it is a central location and easily accessible for the teams and fans who attend to enjoy the contest that brings together the best talents in the country in that category.
He also thanked Banreservas for making its facilities available to Dominican children for the "Robinson Canó Cup" to be held.
The inauguration is scheduled for this Thursday, May 8th, at 4:00 PM.
It is reminded that every day the matches will start at 10:00 in the morning and they will be broadcast on the YouTube channel of the federation "FedoobeLive", while the last match at 4:00 pm will be on VTV Channel 32 of the Panorama Group.
The games this Thursday are, first thing in the morning San Cristóbal and La Romana face each other, followed by Duarte and Santiago, in the afternoon Valverde and Barahona and at the end of the day the current champions the Province of Santo Domingo and San Pedro de Macorís will play.
For this 2025, the sixth U12 National Championship “Robinson Canó”, will have the support of Banreservas, Miderec, Grupo Panorama, VTV Channel 32, OMSA and the Dominican State Economic Dining Halls.
