Israeli Ambassador to the DR condemns the assassinations of diplomats: “We await the end of the war”

Santo Domingo.- The Embassy of Israel in the Dominican Republic commemorated tonight, 77 years of the independence of the State of Israel, in a solemn reception whose central theme was “Bridges of Hope,” where the bonds of brotherhood between both nations were highlighted and, in turn, the urgency of “putting an end to the war” was expressed.

H.E. Raslan Abu Rukun, the Israeli ambassador to the Dominican Republic, referred to the death of two members of the Israeli Embassy, who were victims of a terrorist attack in front of the Jewish Museum Capital, in Washington D.C., expressing the need to end the conflict with the Sunni Palestinian political and paramilitary organization, Hamas.

“Last night, two employees of our embassy in Washington were murdered in front of the Capital Jewish Museum. Israeli representatives worldwide are exposed to great risks, but Israel will not surrender to terrorism,” the ambassador stated in his speech.

He pointed out that despite the situations they have faced as a country and even in the midst of darkness, their greatest desire is to continue with the legacy of the founders of Israel, which is to continue building a democratic, free and just Jewish State, not only for the good of the Israelis, but also for the good of the Palestinians.
