Abinader reaffirms commitment against corruption: “There will be no impunity, regardless of surname or position”

Santo Domingo. – The President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, reiterated this Monday his commitment to the fight against corruption and assured that there will be no leniency with those who violate the law, regardless of their position, surname or political affiliation. During his participation in La Semanal con la prensa, the president called on citizens to report any act of corruption, guaranteeing that all complaints will be thoroughly investigated by the competent authorities.

“Any complaint, any information they have about corruption cases, make the complaint. We will do the investigation and you can be sure that there will be no impunity,” he affirmed.

In that sense, Abinader emphasized that in his government there is no room for the protection of undue privileges. “No matter who it is, no matter the category of who it is, no matter the last name, no matter the political level, if they committed an illegal act they will have to answer to the Public Ministry”, he declared firmly. Abinader insisted that transparency and accountability will continue to be fundamental pillars of his management.

"This government has shown that it is possible to govern with honesty, and that no one is above the law," he concluded.
