Río San Juan, María Trinidad Sánchez. – The Municipal Council of Río San Juan recognized this Monday the famous music producer and international businessman DJ Khaled as "Adoptive Son" of the municipality, in gratitude for the positive impact of his visit on the international projection of the tourist attractions of the area.
The recognition was presented on behalf of Mayor Lenin Melo and had the unanimous support of the councilors Dabel Reyes, Francis Mora, Rubén Santos and Miguel Balbuena, who approved the municipal resolution that grants this distinction. DJ Khaled, visibly moved, thanked the gesture, enthusiastically stating: “I am Dominican!”.

During his stay in a luxurious villa in the municipality, DJ Khaled has shared images and videos on his social media highlighting the beaches, natural landscapes, and warmth of the people of Río San Juan, which has significantly contributed to promoting the destination internationally. The artist's presence has generated a wave of media and tourist attention in the region, strengthening its positioning as a point of interest in the Caribbean. Local authorities expressed their pride in the artist's visit and highlighted that this type of gesture promotes the economic and tourist development of the municipality.
