Today begins the 13th edition of the Gabo Festival 2025 in Bogotá

Bogotá. – This Friday officially began the 13th edition of the Gabo Festival, an international meeting dedicated to journalism, culture, and narrative innovation. This year, the event commemorates the 30th anniversary of the Gabo Foundation with a free program that brings together more than 150 guests from 22 countries and more than 100 activities open to the public.

The motto of this edition, "Seeing each other up close", invites reflection on the transformative power of stories and the role of journalism as a tool for social change. For three days, Bogotá will be the scene of talks, workshops, master classes, live podcasts, exhibitions and audiovisual projections that seek to inspire critical thinking and citizen creativity.

Highlighted events of the first day

The opening day includes simultaneous activities in different cultural and academic spaces of the city, addressing topics such as investigative journalism, artificial intelligence, mental health as a public issue, historical memory, migratory narratives, masculinities, and inclusive literature. Among the participants are renowned journalists, writers, and experts who will share their perspectives on narrative innovation, the fight against misinformation, and the current challenges of communication. On Saturday, July 26th, the Gabo Awards 2025 ceremony will take place, recognizing the best journalistic pieces from Ibero-America in the categories of Text, Photography, Image, Audio, and Coverage. Access to all activities is free, offering journalists, students, and the general public the opportunity to interact with international leaders and discover new ways of telling stories.
