From November 2023 to date, loans have been placed in the order of RD$11,000 million, through the National Council for the Promotion and Support of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (Promipyme). This has led to the entity's active portfolio reaching RD$10,120 million and nearly 69,000 active clients. This as part of the social policies of President Luis Abinader, which have strengthened the role of Promipyme as a key tool for financial inclusion, territorial development, and social equity. These data were recently offered by Fabricio Gómez Mazara, director of Promipyme, who also highlighted the institutional advances achieved under his management, which began in November 2023, and the tangible impact of the public policies promoted by the Government. Among the most relevant programs, Gómez Mazara highlighted "Your signature is your guarantee," an initiative that allows women micro-entrepreneurs to access loans of up to RD$150,000 without the need for a guarantor or co-signer. The program arose from direct instruction by President Abinader, who identified the credit barriers faced by many women after the pandemic, especially due to the credit histories affected in their family environments. This policy is supported by the Banco de Reservas, through its "Bancarizar es patria" initiative, which promotes the opening of accounts with minimal requirements, facilitating access to the formal financial system.

*Measurable results and territorial approach*

Since the arrival of Gómez Mazara, Promipyme has placed more millions in loans, with a delinquency rate, which in the past reached 16.5%, has been reduced to approximately 8%, thanks to a strategy focused on women, who have demonstrated high levels of compliance. In parallel, a precise territorial planning has been designed, which identifies "financial deserts" province by province, prioritizing areas with less access to credit. The next day will be in San Cristóbal, where the financing of environmental protection activities will be incorporated, in coordination with the Ministry of Environment. Promipyme has established strategic alliances with entities such as the National Institute of Student Welfare (INABIE), to implement factoring schemes in companies supplying footwear and school backpacks, and with ProCompetencia, to guarantee clear and equitable rules in public procurement. These alliances reinforce the commitment to transparency, efficiency, and fair competition. Gómez Mazara emphasized that Promipyme is not a simple credit entity: "We lend where others don't, and we do it with fair rates and humane conditions." Currently, Promipyme's interest rates remain at 1.75% monthly, considerably below the levels of informal lenders, which can range between 185% and 244% annualized. With these achievements, the Government reaffirms its leadership in inclusive public policies, while Promipyme consolidates its role as the most effective operational arm for the sustainable development of MSMEs in the Dominican Republic.
