Abinader says extreme poverty fell to 2.44% thanks to salary increases

Santo Domingo.- President Luis Abinader informed that the extreme poverty rate in the Dominican Republic decreased from 2.87% in 2019 to 2.44% in 2025. In that sense, during LA Semanal, the president attributed this improvement to the three salary increases implemented during his administration, which have contributed to improving the living conditions of the most vulnerable sectors. Abinader highlighted that these figures reflect the government's commitment to the fight against poverty and the promotion of inclusive economic development.
