Montecristi.– A patrol of the Dominican Republic Army detained 53 Haitian citizens in irregular migratory condition, during an operation carried out in the Municipal District of Santa María, Montecristi province, with the support of drone units.
The intervention was carried out by personnel from the 4th Infantry Brigade, along with members of the Santa María and Mangá detachments, who located the group in an alley near the river in the town and proceeded to their detention.
Among those arrested are 38 men, 14 women, and a minor. All were transferred under military custody to the headquarters of the 4th Infantry Brigade for the corresponding legal purposes.

The Dominican Republic Army reiterated its commitment to reinforce surveillance in border and rural areas to prevent irregular migration and guarantee national security.
