Hanita: One year after Hezbollah's rocket

Kibbutz Hanita, northern Israel. – A year after the impact of a rocket launched from Lebanon by the group Hezbollah, Kibbutz Hanita still shows the scars of war. The projectile fell in September of last year, destroying homes and leaving a landscape of collapsed roofs, cracked walls, and belongings reduced to ashes. Fortunately, the families had already been evacuated before the attack, avoiding a major tragedy. However, the material damage was evident and, above all, there was the emotional burden of those who had to leave their homes and today face the challenge of rebuilding both their homes and their peace of mind. What is experienced in Hanita reflects the vulnerability of the communities inhabiting Israel's northern border. Each rocket that crosses from southern Lebanon reminds us that the civilian population is the most affected, forced to rebuild their lives amidst uncertainty, fear, and the resilience to move forward in the midst of a conflict that does not give respite.
