COOPSEGUROS surpasses one billion in assets and consolidates growth at the end of 2024

Santo Domingo.– The National Insurance Cooperative (COOPSEGUROS) closed the year 2024 with more than RD$1,400 million in assets, showing a growth of RD$302.5 million compared to the previous year, according to its president, Manuel Gutiérrez Rosario, during the XXXIV Ordinary General Assembly of Delegates.

Gutiérrez Rosario highlighted that 2024 was a period of significant financial and organizational achievements, driven by the execution of the institutional strategic plan and the trust placed by the partner cooperatives. "COOPSEGUROS closes the year 2024 with very positive results in favor of our cooperatives. Our fixed assets reached RD$1,404.7 million, for a year-on-year growth of 27.45%, while the institutional equity increased by 18.5%, equivalent to an additional RD$128.9 million," pointed out the Chairman of the Board of Directors.

The management report also reflected that the entity moved up from 17th to 13th place in the national ranking of premiums collected, and plans to soon join the group of the top ten insurers in the country. During the 2024 exercise, 33 new cooperatives joined as partners, with contributions of RD$3.4 million, while 211 new producers joined as alternative channels. In total, the cooperatives capitalized surpluses, contributions and sponsorships for RD$87.6 million, strengthening the institution's equity base. Likewise, Gutiérrez highlighted a return of 14.18% on capital contributions and 9.86% on equity, indicators that, according to him, "reaffirm the efficiency and financial strength of COOPSEGUROS". The report also highlighted investments in infrastructure, including the acquisition of a parking area in Santo Domingo, the purchase of a new premises in Santiago, currently under renovation, and the opening of a branch in La Romana, expanding the cooperative's national coverage. The thirty-fourth assembly was attended by prominent figures of the national and international cooperative movement, including Julito Fulcar, advitam president of CONACOOP; Eufracia Gómez Morillo, president of CONACOOP; Yanes Rodríguez, president of MUJERCOOP; and representatives of cooperatives from Puerto Rico, such as COSVI and Seguros Múltiples, as well as authorities from IDECOOP and FENCOOPSEGUR.
