President will lead this Tuesday's job fair with 6,811 vacancies

Under the slogan "Your job is here", the Ministry of Labor will hold a major job fair with 6,811 vacancies, in which, in addition, it will formally launch the "RD-Trabaja" Program, through which the goal of reaching 50 percent of employment formality in the country will be promoted.

The new way of making vacant positions available to job seekers will be held on October 22nd, from 9 am to 5 pm, at the UNICARIBE Convention Center, on the Malecón of Santo Domingo.

The Minister of Labor, Eddy Olivares, stated that this will be an unprecedented activity, headed by President Luis Abinader, where 64 companies from various sectors, such as hotels, industry, and services, will seek to fill vacant positions.

"Company representatives will receive resumes and conduct interviews in a good working environment, where participants will also receive talks and employment search workshops," added the minister.

This type of activity is a clear example of our government's firm decision to reduce labor informality and to ensure that those who are unemployed receive the opportunity to join the labor market in decent jobs.

He said that, "fortunately the country has become an oasis for foreign investment, thanks to legal security and labor and social peace, which contributes to economic growth and the creation of more and better jobs".

Olivares expressed that the employment days, through RD-Trabaja, are being transformed and equipped with mechanisms and facilities that make them more effective and guarantee that participating companies insert more job seekers. He added that, for these purposes, the technicians of the National Employment Service of the Ministry of Labor will maintain a fluid communication with the companies and an effective follow-up of results after the materialization of the day.

"With the digital records of companies and job search engines, we will increase the monitoring, tracking, and evaluation of vacancies, measuring their impact on the labor market," said the minister.

In that sense, it was pointed out that they will go to the municipalities and provinces with the most unemployment to bring them job insertion opportunities, while expanding intermediation services through the Territorial Employment Offices (OTE) and continuing to hold employment days throughout the country, also focused on the areas with the most demand for jobs.
