Under the slogan "Energy transition: investment, regulation and impact", the event reaffirmed the importance of collaboration between the State and the private sector to strengthen the country's energy security, innovation and sustainability. "The commitment to clean energy must be accompanied by the ability to guarantee available energy 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. There can be no sustainability without reliability," Herrera emphasized. He also emphasized the importance of maintaining efficient thermal sources, especially those based on natural gas, as essential support for the expansion of renewable energies and the stability of the electrical system. The keynote address was delivered by Professor Luciano Castillo, head of Renewable Energy and Energy Systems at Purdue University (USA), who highlighted the relevance of innovation and education as pillars for moving towards a cleaner energy matrix. Castillo, a renowned researcher with over a hundred scientific publications, addressed the opportunities for emerging countries within the global energy transition and the need to strengthen local technological and scientific capacity. The forum featured the participation of the Minister of Energy and Mines, Joel Santos Echavarría, who presented the Dominican government's vision for a just, safe, and sustainable transition, reaffirming the state's commitment to the development of the sector. Also participating were prominent leaders in the energy field such as Edward Veras, Manuel López San Pablo, Ricardo Estévez, Edy Jiménez, Rosanna Ruiz, Henri Hebrard and Eliza Sánchez Lomakina, under the moderation of Susana Gautreau, Michelle Reyes and Lluvia García, who addressed issues of investment, regulation and financing of the electrical system. The ADIE 2025 Forum concluded with a call to strengthen coordination between the public and private sectors to reduce electricity losses, expand renewable energies, and modernize the national grid, consolidating ADIE as a strategic ally for sustainable development and the economic growth of the Dominican Republic.
