Police arrest four men and seize illegal weapons in Christmas operations in Santiago

Santiago.- Four men were arrested and four undocumented firearms were seized by the National Police during preventive operations carried out in different parts of the province of Santiago, as part of the actions to reinforce citizen security during the Christmas season. The institution of order reported that the interventions took place in the sectors of Cienfuegos, Bella Vista and San José de las Matas, within the framework of the Preventive Operation "Christmas with Guarantee of Peace 2.0-2025", which seeks to prevent criminal acts and preserve the tranquility of the population during the holidays. According to the police report, the operations were carried out jointly by agents of the Property Crimes Investigation Division, preventive units, Rapid Action, and members of the LINCE elite force, achieving the seizure of four pistols of different calibers, as well as magazines and ammunition, all carried illegally.

The National Police indicated that both the detainees and the seized weapons will be placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry in the coming hours, so that proceedings can be carried out in accordance with current legislation. Authorities reiterated that these operations will continue to be carried out throughout the province as part of the strengthening of security and crime prevention during the Christmas period.
