Santo Domingo.— In the framework of the XI National Convention of Young People of the Christian Movement Somos Uno, held under the slogan “Amazona: Guardians of the Orchard”, Pastor Junior Ponciano, leader and founder of the movement, officially announced the launch of the Misión Uno Foundation, a social initiative aimed at impacting communities through faith, service, and transformative action.
During his intervention, Pastor Ponciano explained that the Misión Uno Foundation was born as an extension of the work that Somos Uno has developed for more than a decade, with the aim of structuring social impact projects, community accompaniment and human development, with a clear vision of the country.
The announcement was made before thousands of young people gathered in the Amphitheater of Parque del Este, during the convention held on a day marked by worship, reflection, and the strengthening of spiritual identity.
The motto “Amazonas: Guardians of the Orchard” symbolized the call to a generation of young people firm in their faith, committed to the care of their purpose, their values, and their spiritual and social responsibility within Dominican society.
The convention brought together young people from different provinces of the country, who participated in a day of encounter focused on unity, courage, purpose, and faith in God, reaffirming the commitment of Dominican youth to a life guided by Christian principles.
Over the course of eleven years, Somos Uno has held this convention as an open space for Dominican youth, also receiving delegations from other countries that integrate into this experience of worship and communion.
The event was supported by volunteers who, from different areas, joined the organizational work, reflecting the spirit of service and commitment that Somos Uno promotes among young people.
"The launch of the Misión Uno Foundation represents a firm step towards a faith that is not only lived, but also translates into service and concrete action for the benefit of others," highlighted Pastor Junior Ponciano.
With this announcement and the celebration of its eleventh edition, Somos Uno consolidates its leadership as a Christian youth movement in the Dominican Republic and projects a vision of the future that integrates faith, unity, and social commitment.
