Santo Domingo.-With the support of the General Directorate of Community Development, the University Hospital Maternidad Nuestra Señora de la Altagracia inaugurated four new clinics, with the aim of strengthening maternal and child care and improving the quality of health services for women who are treated at the center.
The new offices are equipped with modern furniture and basic technology for medical care, which will allow to expand the consultation capacity, reduce waiting times and offer a more dignified and efficient service to the users.
The inaugural act was led by the general director of Community Development, Dr. Modesto Guzmán, who was accompanied by the director of the health center, Dr. Jorge Arturo Jiménez; the president of the Pro-Maternity board, Mrs. Gloria Mejía de Selman, medical staff and collaborators of the DGDC.

Modesto Guzmán highlighted that this initiative is part of the institutional commitment to bring essential services closer to the population and guarantee comprehensive and timely care. "We are very pleased to be inaugurating these new offices today, and I was telling Dr. Jorge that this center doesn't look like a hospital because of how well-maintained it is, the services they offer, and the way they work. Also, I want to thank Doña Gloria Mejía for allowing us to collaborate in such an important cause as dignifying the care for patients," said Dr. Modesto. For his part, the director of the health center, Dr. Jorge Arturo Jiménez, thanked, on behalf of all the staff and patients who visit the maternity ward, Dr. Modesto Guzmán, head of the General Directorate of Community Development, representing the Government, for promoting projects aimed at strengthening the health system and social development.
