The atmosphere was already tense from the previous encounter, when an uncomfortable exchange between pitcher JT Brubaker and batter Spencer Steer generated friction. The situation escalated in the final game when the Giants' starter hit Steer in the ribs from the first pitch of his at-bat. The most delicate moment arrived in the eighth inning. With two outs on the scoreboard, Cincinnati reliever Connor Phillips hit Dominican Willy Adames with a pitch, provoking an immediate reaction from the player and raising the tension on the field. Although the home plate umpire intervened to prevent a major confrontation, the umpires decided to eject Phillips after meeting.
The conflict didn't end there. At the conclusion of the game, when Giants reliever Erik Miller struck out batter Sal Stewart to seal the victory, both exchanged words that reignited tempers, causing players from both benches to come onto the field. Despite the incidents, no major physical confrontations were reported, although the series made clear the competitive environment and the growing rivalry between both teams. With the triumph, San Francisco took the last duel of the series, while Cincinnati will have to turn the page after a day marked more by tension than by the result on the scoreboard.
