Parents of baby found lifeless in Los Girasoles ravine are arrested for investigation

Santo Domingo. – Authorities arrested the parents of a baby who was found lifeless in a ravine in the Los Girasoles sector, as part of the investigations to clarify the case. According to preliminary information, both remain in custody at a police detachment, while investigations are deepened regarding the circumstances in which the event occurred. The case has generated great commotion in the community. Consternation seized the residents of the sector this Tuesday, after the discovery of the infant's body in a tributary of the area. According to initial reports, the youngest had been reported missing since the morning hours, which triggered the alarm among family and neighbors, who began searching for her in the surrounding area.

It was the community who located the lifeless body in the ravine and immediately notified the authorities. Members of the National Police and the Public Ministry showed up at the scene, who cordoned off the area while the medical examiner carried out the corresponding removal. Marcial, representative of the neighborhood association, indicated that the minor's father is known in the area by the nickname "Helocon". So far, the authorities have not offered an official version of what happened nor have they established responsibilities, while investigations continue.
