After 10 years closed, UASD reopens School of Languages building

Santo Domingo.– The Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD) formally delivered the renovated building of the School of Languages, after being closed for a decade. The event was led by the rector of UASD, Editrudys Beltrán; the dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Gerardo Roa Ogando; and the director of the School of Languages, Abad Montero; who highlighted the importance of this space to strengthen the linguistic and pedagogical training of students in the area. The renovated building has 14 fully air-conditioned classrooms, 18 air conditioners, a teachers' lounge, a kitchen, and sanitary services, which will allow for the provision of optimal conditions for teaching and research in the area of foreign languages.

Beltrán reaffirmed his commitment to continue supporting the areas related to teaching, research, and extension so that the university family remains at the forefront of new technological advances. For his part, Roa Ogando expressed his gratitude to the rector and highlighted that with this inauguration, his management program as dean will be able to be fulfilled, which includes the creation of better environmental conditions for teachers and students to carry out their teaching/learning work in decent conditions. Likewise, he highlighted the role played by teachers and administrators in the sustainable development of the institution with quality teaching and cleanliness. The activity brought together hundreds of students, teachers, and university authorities who enthusiastically celebrated the reopening of this emblematic building, a symbol of UASD's commitment to improving its academic infrastructure and educational quality.
