Santo Domingo.- The Chamber of Accounts of the Dominican Republic announced this Thursday the approval of four new inspection and control reports, which brings the total to 32 audits approved in the last four months.
These correspond to the socioeconomic aid programs implemented within the framework of the pandemic, to the Dominican College of Engineers, Architects and Surveyors (Codia), to the Ministry of Youth (MJ) and to the Dominican Institute of Telecommunications (Indotel), each accompanied by its respective legal report, according to a statement from the supervisory body.

The first, related to the coordinated audit of the socioeconomic aid programs implemented in the region during the covid pandemic, included the period between January 1 and December 31, 2020, at the initiative of the Special Working Group on the Fight Against Transnational Corruption (GTCT) of the Latin American and Caribbean Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (Olacefs), to which the Dominican Chamber of Accounts belongs. The second one gathers the special investigation carried out on Codia, from August 5, 2014 to August 14, 2018, at the request of the president of the Board of Directors of that organization. Meanwhile, the third refers to the audit of the financial information contained in the budget execution statements of the Ministry of Youth (MJ), corresponding to the period from January 1, 2017 to December 31, 2018, while the last one corresponds to the study carried out on the financial statements of the Dominican Institute of Telecommunications (Indotel), from January 1, 2014 to December 31, 2016.
