Distrito Nacional.— In a joint effort to reinforce security and proactively address crime, the Public Ministry, the National Directorate for Drug Control (DNCD), the Army, and the National Police, with the support of the Ministries of Interior and Defense, deployed a large-scale operation this Saturday in the Capotillo sector of the Distrito Nacional.
The intervention included 32 specific actions, including 22 raids and operations in 10 public spaces, carried out from early hours by a team of 45 prosecutors and more than 640 agents from the different participating institutions.Read more: Authorities promise that there will be no cell phones in Las Parras
During the operation, the authorities seized controlled substances, cash, and illegal slot machines. Law enforcement announced that they will remain in the area until a safer environment for residents is guaranteed.
The Public Ministry explained that one of the key objectives of the operation is to dismantle clandestine video surveillance systems installed by criminal networks, which hinder the work of the authorities and affect peaceful coexistence in the community.In addition, representatives from the Ministry of Interior and Police reported that, as part of the intervention, social programs in the sector will be strengthened, in coordination with other state entities, to offer greater opportunities and support to the citizens of Capotillo.
The authorities reiterated their commitment to restoring tranquility to the neighborhoods and ensuring that law-abiding citizens can carry out their daily activities in a safe environment.
