Santo Domingo. – The president of Farmacia GBC, Raymond Rodríguez, urged Dominican youth to focus on education and at the same time assume a civic commitment to cleanliness and care for the environment. His statements
were offered during the
“Plastics for School Supplies” day, organized by the mayor of the National District,
Carolina Mejía, in support of the start of the 2025-2026 school year.
Rodríguez expressed his support for the initiative and the mayor's management, highlighting the relevance of each Dominican actively participating in reducing the levels of garbage in the streets and communities.
"I am here in support of Carolina and this great activity. We have to commit ourselves as citizens to a cleaner country," said the businessman, highlighting the need to promote ecological awareness from an early age.
Education and social commitment
The president of GBC took the stage to deliver a special message to young people, whom he encouraged to put their studies first, understanding that academic training is the key to opening opportunities and contributing to the progress of the country.
"I tell the young people to study, because only in this way will they be able to grow in all areas of life," he affirmed.
Rodríguez's participation in the day reaffirms the private sector's interest in supporting community programs that promote education, sustainability, and social responsibility, fundamental values for building a more just society and aware of the environmental impact.
The activity brought together dozens of families who exchanged recyclable plastics for backpacks and school supplies, in a joint effort by the authorities and allied companies to support education and create cleaner and healthier cities.
