Los Alcarrizos.– A young man identified as Ricardo Yeudi Pie, alias “Niño”, 19 years old, was shot dead on Tuesday afternoon after exchanging gunfire with agents of the Santo Domingo Oeste Regional Sub-Directorate and the Intelligence Department (DINTEL) of the National Police, during an operation carried out in the La Nueva Esperanza sector.
Pie was wanted on an arrest warrant for his alleged involvement in the homicide of Leonardo Urbáez. According to the official report, upon noticing the presence of the officers, the young man fired at the patrol car, which caused them to respond to the aggression.

During the exchange of gunfire, the wanted man was injured and was taken to Dr. Vinicio Calventi Hospital, where he died while receiving medical attention. In the scene, authorities seized a Taurus 9mm pistol, which had allegedly been used by the deceased in the confrontation. The case was placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor's Office, while investigations continue to clarify other aspects related to the event.
