SANTO DOMINGO. – Dominican singer-songwriter Merlis Camilo returns to the music scene with “Ego y Amor,” an intimate and experimental EP where she mixes pop, rock, ballad, trap, and Latin rhythms. This work marks a new stage in her career and is available from August 1st on all digital platforms.
With five original tracks, including the already known "Gods" and "Guilty", Merlis opens her soul in each lyric, sharing emotions and personal experiences, many of them influenced by her recent motherhood. The songs were created with Guillermo Ureña and Adriano Sang, who also took on the production, mixing, and mastering.
"This project comes from a search for identity after becoming a mother. It speaks of self-love, relationships and vulnerability, but from a musical freedom different from anything I had done before," explained the artist.
"Ego y Amor" joins her previous productions "Desnudar el alma" (2016) and "Merlis Camilo" (2019). The artist also participated in the Summerfest lineup in Santiago, where she offered a preview of this new sound proposal.
