Santiago.- SmartFilms arrives in the Cibao region as part of “La Ruta Peliculera”, offering free workshops for university students and the general public who wish to learn and tell a story, regardless of their age or previous experience with their mobile device.
The acclaimed cell phone film festival, established as the most inclusive and democratic in the world, stops this Friday, July 25th and Saturday, July 26th in the North of the country, by the hand of the renowned actors and producers Evelyna Rodríguez and Danilo Reynoso, who take this innovative platform to different parts of the country, to democratize access to cinematographic knowledge and enhance local talent.
The stop in Santiago begins on Friday, July 25th, in the auditorium of the TEP of the Pontifical Catholic Mother and Teacher University (PUCMM), at 5:00 in the afternoon; and on Saturday 26th at the Centro Cultural León at 9:00 in the morning, continuing the route at 3:00 in the afternoon on Saturday at the Municipal Council of Mao, with the support of the Cibao Association.

"The Movie Route" by SMARTFILMS was successfully held in Santo Domingo with three meetings that gathered more than 500 people at La Cinemateca, La Barquita and Intec. This academic tour will take prominent national film professionals to 16 locations, including Azua, San Cristóbal, Valverde, Puerto Plata, Samaná and La Altagracia, offering workshops and talks on how to create quality stories using a mobile device. It should be noted that, on July 28th, the first category and requirements for participating in SMARTFILMSDominicana will be announced. This initiative seeks to encourage the audiovisual industry at the forefront of new technologies, opening opportunities for everyone and combining an academic agenda that will visit every corner of the country. SMARTFILMS arrives in the Dominican Republic thanks to the support of the Asociación Cibao, Caribbean Cinemas, M Studio, the Economic and Social Development Council of Santo Domingo, Expo Sostenibilidad, DGCINE and Cinemateca Dominicana. Grupo de Medios Telemicro, Listín Diario, "De Último Minuto", Front Stage and Cine Dominicano join as allies, while Ron Siboney and White Claw entertained the guests who gathered at Agora Mall, along with Rueda Cine.
