Santo Domingo. Kelvin Cruz, the current Minister of Sports of the Dominican Republic, has been a key figure in the development and promotion of sports in the country. Brief Biography

Kelvin Cruz was born in the city of La Vega, Dominican Republic. From a young age, he excelled in sports, especially basketball, and became a leader, being the manager of two franchises in the tournament organized by the basketball association of this city and on one occasion was the president of that entity. After his career as a sports leader, Cruz dedicated himself to politics and became a prominent leader in his native province, becoming for two periods the historic mayor of his native La Vega until President Luis Abinader appointed him Minister of Sports. Management at the Head of the Ministry of Sports Cruz assumed the position of Minister of Sports in August 2024 and has since worked tirelessly to promote sports in the country.
