Argentina's largest distributor of child sexual abuse material captured

A 38-year-old man was arrested in the Argentinian town of Vicente López, accused of being one of the largest distributors of child sexual abuse material in the South American country, according to reports La Nación.

The suspect stored more than 80,000 files with explicit images of minors between 2 and 7 years old. During the raid, electronic devices packed with illegal content and manuals for abusing minors, filming them and sharing them on the Internet were seized.

The authorities identified him as a high-risk sex offender and described him as "the largest distributor of child sexual abuse material in our country, due to the quantity of files transmitted." The investigation, which was coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office, adds to a series of procedures aimed at dismantling digital pedophilia networks.

According to judicial sources, the man used the P2P system (person-to-person transactions) and a program known as 'big torrent' to operate in clandestinity with a large volume of data.

The accused, who lived with his parents, was placed at the disposal of justice for the crimes of distribution and commercialization of child abuse images.
