Jerusalem.- The Israeli government called the report published this Tuesday by an International
Independent UN Commission of Inquiry "false" which says that
"Israel has committed genocide against the Palestinians in Gaza", stating that it is based on "falsehoods from Hamas, whitewashed and repeated by others".
According to a statement sent by the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, those who prepared the report "act as representatives of Hamas" and are "known for their openly antisemitic stances."
The commission was led by one of the world's most respected figures in this field, who presided over the International Criminal Tribunal created in the wake of the Rwandan genocide, Navi Pillay.
"Israel categorically rejects this distorted and false report and demands the immediate dissolution of this Commission of Inquiry," adds Israeli Foreign Affairs.
According to the investigations of the report, which take as their starting point the day of the Hamas attacks against Israel, October 7, 2023, "Israeli authorities and Israeli security forces committed four of the five genocidal acts", according to the definition of this crime in international law.
