MESCyT inaugurates stand at the 2025 International Book Fair

Santo Domingo.– The Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology (MESCyT) inaugurated its stand this Monday at the XXVII Santo Domingo International Book Fair 2025, which is dedicated to the promotion of children's literature and pays tribute to the historian and writer, Frank Moya Pons. The opening of the stand, representing Minister Franklin Gracia Fermín, was led by the Vice Minister of Extension, Carmen Molina, who after the ribbon-cutting highlighted the importance of this literary and cultural event for the education of Dominican children, adolescents, and youth.

"As this is an activity aimed at expanding and elevating the culture of the nation, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology participates in it as a sponsor and special collaborator, in view of the importance of books and reading for the betterment of peoples," Molina expressed when officially inaugurating the MESCyT space.


He said that MESCyT enthusiastically assumes the commitment to accompany and strengthen this cultural celebration. Today we do it with a stand that not only shows the programs and projects of the Ministry, but also reflects the determined support of our higher education institutions, which actively participate in this encounter with knowledge and culture.

In that sense, the vice-minister invited the entire university community to actively participate in the activities of the fair, which, in addition to conferences and editorial presentations, will feature a reading competition among students of the Dominican university system, organized in coordination with MESCyT.

The ministry's stand will offer information and guidance on the main programs that impact young people and professionals in the country, such as: National and International Scholarships; English Immersion Program, whose call opens in October. In addition, processing of Exequatur, legalization of academic documents of higher education.

About the Fair

Starting this Monday, September 29th, 1:00 pm. The premiere of the historical series "Trinitarios" will be presented. RTVD, a tribute to the founders of our Republic, with the presence of the Minister of Culture, Roberto Ángel Salcedo, Education, Luis Miguel De Camps, Juan Pablo Uribe, president of the Permanent Commission of Patriotic Ephemeris, among other officials from ministries linked to education and culture, with an introduction by Iván Ruiz, general director. While the Comic Pavilion presents an attractive program of publications, conferences, colloquiums, and workshops, which once again profiles it as one of the most visited spaces. Persio Maldonado, Pavilion of Good Words, Conference on "literature and press". The XXVII Santo Domingo International Book Fair 2025 will be held in the Plaza de la Cultura Juan Pablo Duarte, from September 25 to October 5, under the slogan "Reading transforms", with a program that integrates more than 400 cultural, literary and academic activities.
