Transparency, artificial intelligence, and ethics mark the last day of the Open Justice Conference

Santo Domingo.- Today, Thursday, August 28, the second and last day of the First Open Justice Conference is taking place, a space that brings together national and international experts to discuss innovation, transparency and citizen participation in the judicial system. The agenda began at 9:00 a.m. with the plenary session "Advances and challenges for innovation in judicial institutions", where the main challenges for modernizing justice in the region were addressed.

After a coffee break, attendees will participate in various panels that revolved around topics such as artificial intelligence and data governance, open data in justice, and the importance of protecting personal data while strengthening transparency and access to public information. In the mid-morning session, the panels "Ethics and Judicial Integrity in the Era of Open Justice", "Plain Language as a Tool for Open Justice", and "Access to Public Information in Justice: Where are we going?" will also be held, where standards and good practices for a more effective implementation will be discussed. After lunch, starting at 1:30 p.m., working groups will be divided to discuss local open justice, citizen participation and accountability, knowledge gaps and transparency. The conference will conclude with a final plenary session entitled "The Future of Open Justice in Latin America: Challenges and Opportunities," scheduled for 3:00 p.m., which is expected to include the participation of prominent specialists who will outline the lines of action towards a more inclusive and modern justice system.
