SANTO DOMINGO.- The General Directorate of Migration (DGM) reported that in the year 2025, it registered the deportation to their country of origin of 379,553 Haitian nationals with irregular migratory presence in Dominican territory, a figure that represents an 84% increase compared to those of the 2021-2025 period, and that multiplies by ten those repatriated in 2016. Also, some 5,027 Dominican citizens were deported for committing acts in conflict with the law.
Regarding the control of international mobility, during 2025, 20,464,253 entries and exits of passengers were recorded through the country's airports, seaports, and border crossings. 10,061,317 entries and 10,095,404 exits were processed at airports.

Through the busiest airport, Punta Cana, 5,620,394 people were processed and 5,632,812 departed. It is followed by Las Américas International with 2,690,890 arrivals and 2,693,615 departures. Cibao Airport received 1,131,442 passengers and sent off 1,148,843.
Through the four border gates, 68,048 people entered and 54,607 left the country. Through ports and docks, 93,507 arrived and 91,370 departed. The one with the most movement was La Romana dock with 36,066 arriving and 34,744 departing. Through the Don Diego terminal, 34,276 entered and 33,773 left. The cases of judicialized crimes related to violations of the General Migration Law in 2025 total 207; most of them -159- for illicit trafficking of migrants, and 26 for falsification and use of false documents. The recently concluded year saw the completion of the assignment process for 1,023 immigration agents in all provinces of the country, which was made possible by the implementation of the first human resources training plan to meet the staffing needs of the DGM. Also, 118 new inspectors and 25 new assistants were integrated into the immigration control points. In total, six thousand five hundred thirty-five (6,535) immigration interdiction operations were carried out, in coordination with the Armed Forces and their institutions (Army, Navy, Air Force and specialized bodies such as CESFRONT and SENPA), as well as the National Police (PN), among other national security institutions. With the acquisition of 60 trucks, 58 trucks and 8 buses and the use of 735 Taser Guns, 300 communication radios and 300 Body Cams, these operations were strengthened. The use of facial recognition tools, the increase in storage capacity, as well as the real-time monitoring of body cameras, the acquisition of licenses for biometric registration and the fiber optic connectivity of the border zone integrated with ETED stand out. In the migratory processing centers, including those in Haina, Benerito, Santiago, and Dajabón, what is stipulated in the procedure manuals that have been created is applied, and where operational 24/7 medical dispensaries have been enabled, in addition to fixed ambulances in Haina and Santiago. The Director General of the DGM, Vice Admiral Luis Rafael Lee Ballester, ARD., reiterated the institution's and its personnel's commitment to compliance with the current legal framework and the strengthening of an orderly, safe, and migration management in accordance with national interests.
