The National Council of Export Free Zones (CNZFE), chaired by the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Mipymes, Yayo Sanz Lovaton, approved in its first ordinary session of the year 2026, the installation of nine companies with an investment of RD$832,179,035 million, the generation of 615 new direct jobs and foreign exchange for US$8,336,063 million, in the logistics, tobacco, textile and telephone operators sectors.
Likewise, the council approved the installation of a free zone park, which projects an investment of RD$367,815.168 million, and foreign exchange earnings exceeding US$1,146.018 million.
During the past year 2025, the free trade zone sector broke historical records by reaching the generation of 200 thousand direct jobs, and historical figures in exports by reaching the figure of USD$14,645 million dollars.
Upon concluding the Council session, and the first one chaired by Minister Sanz Lovaton, he reiterated his commitment to continue promoting the growth of the sector and the interest of President Luis Abinader in ensuring that the Dominican Republic has the best conditions and guarantees to become the main logistics center in the region. "Our free zones remain one of the main sources of job creation and exports and, of course, attracting investment, and the goal is to continue working together, public-private sector, to sustain the progress achieved."
Minister Yayo Sanz Lovaton, along with the executive director of the CNZFE, Daniel Liranzo, and other members of the Council, considered that during the year 2026 the free zones will continue to exhibit a historic performance in terms of job creation, attraction of investments and growth of exports.
Yayo highlighted the business climate maintained in the Dominican Republic, and the strengthening of trade relations with the United States, as the main trading partner.
The Companies
Among the new free zone companies that will be installed in the country, the following stand out in the service sector: Flash Parking, with 105 jobs, Green zone trading with 26, RCL LUGGAGE with the generation of 190 jobs, as well as Radiant Tobacco, with a projection of 48 jobs, and Eren dedicated to packaging solutions.The participants
