Los Alcarrizos. – The Municipal Council of Los Alcarrizos held a public hearing to socialize the project for the construction of a solid waste transfer station, with an investment exceeding 30 million pesos, executed with the support of the central Government and the Dominican Municipal League.
During the meeting, municipal authorities explained the details of the project and presented the technical and impact studies, which were prepared by a specialized external company, guaranteeing the environmental and operational viability of the work.
Mayor Junior Santos highlighted the positive impact this infrastructure will have on the municipality by significantly improving solid waste management. He also noted that this transfer point could become, in the future, a municipal company of Los Alcarrizos, dedicated to the reclassification and use of waste, generating jobs and contributing to sustainable development.
With the participation of more than 100 people, representatives of community and social organizations had the opportunity to ask questions, express concerns, and make suggestions, which were heard and valued by the authorities present.
In the activity, representatives from the Ministry of Environment participated, as well as deputies Aldo Adón and Rafaela González, and councilors from the municipal council, headed by its president Primitivo Núñez, in addition to civil and governmental authorities and community leaders.
The City Council reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, citizen participation, and responsible management of solid waste, as part of a comprehensive policy for the well-being and sustainability of the municipality.
