Obese dog survives traffic accident in China thanks to its excess fat

A 64-kilogram Labrador named Yuan Yuan, who was resting in the middle of a road in the Chinese city of Hangzhou, emerged unscathed after being run over by a car thanks to his overweight, report local media.

The car driver did not notice the animal's presence when reversing and ran over it with the front right wheel. Upon hearing the dog's loud cries, he stopped the vehicle, leaving the Labrador crushed under the tire. Faced with the shock, the neighbors came to his aid.

After the incident, the dog's owner believed the animal would die, however, at the veterinary hospital, it was discovered that it had not suffered a single injury and "its body cushioned by fat" had saved its life.
