Santo Domingo. – The National Police reports that, as a result of an intelligence operation, five people linked to a criminal structure dedicated to theft by carelessness in different stores in the country were arrested, during an operation carried out on the night of Wednesday, January 15, 2026, in the Villa Consuelo sector, Distrito Nacional.
The operation was led by a team from the Robbery Operations Office, achieving the arrest of Luciano de los Santos, alias "Germo", Jorge Hernández Adames, alias "El Flaco"; Ramón Alberto Gómez Urtarte, alias "Junior"; Diosmeris Rodríguez and Miguelina Guzmán.
The detainees were caught aboard a Subaru vehicle, Pleo model, light blue color, year 2018, license plate AA40446, on Felipe Vicini Perdomo street, corner of Daniel Henríquez, where, upon searching the trunk of the car, a green bag was seized containing various allegedly stolen goods, including pants, deodorants, toothbrushes, creams, soaps and other items.

When questioned about the origin of the occupied objects, the detainee Miguelina Guzmán admitted that the goods had been stolen and were in the place to be sold to Ramón Alberto Gómez Urtarte. Preliminary investigations indicate that those arrested are part of a criminal structure dedicated to theft by carelessness in commercial establishments. The detainees and the seized evidence were placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry for the corresponding legal purposes.
