Public broadcaster Slovenian RTV has announced Slovenia's withdrawal from the Eurovision Song Contest following the votes held this Thursday at the 95th General Assembly of the EBU today in Geneva, which have concluded with Israel's permanence in the musical contest.
"Slovenia, along with Spain, Montenegro, Netherlands, Turkey, Algeria and Iceland, requested a secret vote on Israel's participation in the Eurovision Song Contest, but it did not take place", the broadcaster pointed out, highlighting that the votes were not secret.
"Consequently, Iceland, Ireland, Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Slovenia will not participate" in the next edition of the festival, which will be held in Vienna, added RTV.
