Washington.- The U.S. Congressional committee investigating the deceased financier Jeffrey Epstein formally requested the testimony of Bill Gates, co-founder of Microsoft, and Leon Black, co-founder of Apollo Global Management.
Both billionaires were cited through letters sent by the chairman of the House Oversight Committee, James Comer, with the aim of gathering relevant information for the investigation.
"The Oversight Committee continues to seek the truth for survivors and all Americans," Comer wrote on his X account.
The request is framed within the investigation into the activities and contacts of Epstein, who was convicted of sexual offenses and whose network of relationships has involved several prominent figures from the business and financial world.
The committee seeks to clarify possible links and details about the interaction of Gates and Black with Epstein, as both appear in the files released about the deceased sex offender.
