Washington.- The Government of President Donald Trump of the United States announced this Thursday that it will begin construction in September of a new ballroom, of about 8,000 square meters of surface, in the White House. This was reported by the spokeswoman for the Republican Administration, Karoline Leavitt, during a press conference, where she explained that the expansion of the presidential residence is due to the fact that it does not currently have enough space to organize "large events".

"Other presidents have long yearned for a large event space within the White House complex... Trump has expressed his commitment to solving this problem," he told reporters. The project will have an estimated cost of 200 million dollars, which have already been covered by donations from Trump himself and other "patriots", the Government indicated in a statement. The construction will begin in September and is expected to be completed before Trump's term ends in 2028. The company in charge will be the construction company Clark, based in Virginia, responsible for emblematic projects in the American capital such as the Capital One Arena stadium and L'Enfant Plaza park. The new salon will be located in the east wing of the White House, although it will be "substantially separated" from the main building, according to the statement. The design, commissioned to the architectural firm also based in Washington McCrery Architects, will preserve the American neoclassical style.
