Casa Brugal supports new ITLA center in Puerto Plata

Casa Brugal signed a collaboration agreement to install an extension of the Instituto Tecnológico de Las Américas (ITLA) in the municipality of Montellano, with the purpose of expanding the technical training opportunities for young people in the province of Puerto Plata. The agreement, signed with the Montellano City Hall and the Puerta Plata Bishopric, is part of the commitment that Casa Brugal has maintained with education through the Education Fund, the Brugal Awards Believe in its People and other actions of the Brugal Foundation, the company's charitable arm. The new facility will have 5 fully equipped classrooms, each with a capacity for 18 students. The training catalog will include courses, workshops, and diplomas in areas of high technological demand, from programming and website creation to social media management and technological projects, ethical hacking, forensic security, artificial intelligence, video games, among others. Augusto Ramírez Bonó, president of Casa Brugal, assured that the company aims to contribute more and more to the communities where it operates: “Just as we have transformed ourselves to compete successfully worldwide, we want future generations of Dominicans to also be in a position to guarantee the country's development”.

For his part, Gary Ruiz, vice-rector of ITLA, expressed that “ITLA continues to bet on quality technological education with this extension in Puerto Plata that seeks to impact more than 1,700 participants per year”.

Also present at the signing of the agreement were Ginnette Bournigal, senator of Puerto Plata and promoter of the project, Héctor Almonte, mayor of Montellano and Julio César Corniel, bishop of Puerto Plata, along with directors of Casa Brugal, representatives of the Provincial Government and ITLA. “This agreement marks a before and after for our municipality. The installation of ITLA in Montellano is a direct investment in the future of our youth and an example of what we can achieve when the public sector, the private sector, and the church come together for a common good,” concluded Mayor Almonte.
