San Juan. – President Luis Abinader, along with First Lady Raquel Arbaje, inaugurated this Saturday the León Romilio Rodríguez Ventura Educational Center, in the municipal district of Carrera de Yeguas, in this province, a work that will benefit more than 300 students. The building has nine classrooms, science and computer labs, a library, a teachers' lounge, a guidance office, a nurse's office, a multipurpose room, counseling, storage rooms, a dining room, bathrooms, recreation areas, a civic plaza, and other facilities that will accommodate 300 students from the community and surrounding areas, with the aim of ensuring a higher quality public education. During the event, the Vice Minister of Planning and Development of the Ministry of Education, Rolando Reyes, stated that the inauguration of this center constitutes a key step to guarantee the 12 years of schooling that every student in the Dominican educational system must complete, from the first grade until their graduation as a high school graduate.

Engineer Roberto Herrera, director of School Infrastructure, the organization that built the work, attended the event.

Reyes explained that, in addition to putting this educational center into operation, the Ministry of Education recently began the year with an exclusive budget of 332.879 million pesos, aimed at strengthening the quality and coverage of the public education system. On behalf of the students, Nayelis Figuereo Encarnación expressed her gratitude to President Abinader for the inauguration of the center, a suitable and modern place that will help them learn and develop their abilities. "That dream that seemed distant, today becomes a pure reality, that's why today on behalf of all our students we want to give our most sincere thanks to President Luis Abinader for making this work possible," said the student. The school infrastructure of this community was originally conceived through a contract signed in the year 2013. However, its inauguration did not occur until 2026, which shows an accumulated delay of eleven years in the execution of the project. For over a decade, this work remained unfinished, depriving the educational community of a suitable space for the teaching and learning process of children and young people in the area. This company generates around 80 direct jobs and hundreds of indirect jobs that benefit families in this municipality.
