They will demolish and rebuild the Villa Mella Maternity Hospital

Santo Domingo Norte. Authorities reported that the Municipal Maternity Hospital of Villa Mella will be demolished to make way for its total reconstruction, with the aim of modernizing its facilities and improving the health services it offers to the community. The measure comes after years of claims about the deterioration of the infrastructure. "I have been living here for over 15 years and the situation of this hospital remains the same. I hope they do something now," said Leonardo Salcedo, a resident of the sector. The authorities indicated that they will soon offer details on the start of the works and the actions to guarantee the continuity of services while the work is carried out. The authorities explained that the reconstruction will allow the hospital to be equipped with new care areas, updated medical equipment, and adequate spaces to guarantee a dignified and efficient service, especially in the maternal-infant area, one of the most in demand in the area.
